The Space Merchants: album art
The Space Merchants are a Brooklyn-based band that combine elements of psychedelia and country. The idea for this EP cover was to combine a space suit with a Nudie Suit; the western-wear rhinestone jumpsuits designed by Nudie Cohn.
The image was hand-silkscreened and hand-embroidered by me.
Campaign Event: Yung Beets Festival
The task was to create an event that would re-brand a company with an image problem. I chose PETA– People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals– because they often lead with shocking, negative, or sexist imagery which turns people off of their ultimately positive message.
Yung Beets Fest is an outdoor vegan food and music festival aimed at young people, specifically teenage girls. The goal of Yung Beets Fest is to present PETA's message– vegetarianism– in a manner that is fun, light-hearted, positive, accessible, and obvious.
